Editorial Review of
Amarin Thai
Thai restaurants may appear to be a dime a dozen in Hillcrest, but once in awhile, a truly superior Thai eatery manages to emerge above the throng. Amarin Thai is one such exception. Traditional flavor delivered with impeccable presentation is the culinary ethic; even simple appetizers such as the Kratong Thong, a dish of minced chicken and vegetables in yellow curry, is carefully seasoned to achieve a deep, spicy flavor, and served in a beautiful flower shaped, golden cup. The entrees actually step up the impressive appeal to taste and touch. The CK Volcano is a mountain of marinated chicken breast sprinkled with green tea leaves, roasted and served on a bed of spinach, and topped with green curry sauce.
Fortunately, the prices demanded for a taste of Amarin are equally enticing. Most dinner entrees other than specialty dishes are under $10, and portions are extremely generous.
