The outward appearance of this upscale beach dive is very modern simplistic, giving UNION Kitchen and Tap a feeling of sophistication without becoming pretentious. It is clear that everyone is welcome through their doors and the owners have outfitted their restaurant to put the majority of the emphasis on their food and drink. Get ready for upgraded bar grub and even a few local beers, with a perfect pour, in a laidback setting located just blocks from the beach. I think I smell a new North County hot spot on the rise! Locals feel strongly that the UNION Kitchen and Tap will thrive in the upcoming area and will serve as a beacon to mark the up and coming affluence in Encinitas. Added 06/09/11 Great food, great atmosphere

Enjoyed a fun dinner with friends. Very lively and social atmosphere. Food was well prepared and very tasty. Would recommend the Mac and Cheese... yum!
