Thrusters Lounge
Don’t let its locale fool you; PB brosefs don’t make it far past the door at Thrusters. A long thin corridor only big enough to fit locals and industry folk, Thrusters offers a completely different tune than neighbors on Garnet. Stainless steel barstools give a shiny and art deco touch and provide sharp lines to contrast with the plastic chair competition around the corner. The ceiling is lined with short boards; each covered with unique designs by local artists that are changed out often to keep things fresh. Local DJs bang out killer electro sets nightly, happily taking a break from top 40 sets to play for a crowd packed on the small dance floor. And if surfboards and music don’t impress you, at least you’ll come to appreciate the wall-to-wall mirrors that make it easier to check out San Diego’s most attractive bar staff from all the right angles.
