The Ken, formerly known as The Kensington Club, boasts top San Diego dive bar credibility. With currently-crumbling décor, record low drinks, and an emerging live music sound, The Ken may be falling apart, but it's not going anywhere. Kensington locals and scenesters from all around the county flock to The Ken to lounge in retro red cushioned booths, follow the scene via decade old mirror walls, and admire the drywall décor accented by arrayed taped-down sound cables. As guests enter The Ken, they can hang by the bar and play pool, or veer right for life music access. For dive bar basics with no frills attached, The Ken's your spot.
