The Flame
The once iconic lesbian bar of the neighborhood, known as The Flame, is now the premier pan-gender gay club on the block. The Flame features two full bars complete with shirtless bar backs, a hi-tech deejay booth spinning the latest hip hop jams, and a rotund bed in the back for easy lounging. The dance floor in the front is spacious enough to get lost in among the many fog machines and laser lights shooting across the room. However, the comfy lounge beyond the dance floor is exclusively reserved for those who rather not groove to the beat.
There is a cover fee of $5 at the door, but cheap drinks more than make up for it. With high-energy music in the background and young people looking to hook up, The Flame is a place where you find a date--and not a place to take one.
