The Dog is one of Pacific Beach's most discreet dive bars. If you're looking for a place to bite the dog that bit you last night—The Dog is your scene. The Dog serves a hearty selection of domestic and imported beers, with only a few other items on the menu. Aged pool tables, various degrees of rock music, and a diverse crowd create the core of The Dog. Old bikers, emo punks, and blond beach bunnies meet at The Dog. The combination of drink specials, central location (Garnet and Everts), and no-line draws in regulars and many breeds of locals and visitors. Wednesday nights draw in an especially large crowd with an unbeatable special: one dollar cover, everything else one dollar.

San Diego's Pacific Beach has one of the coolest bars called The Dog. It serves a bunch of imported beer that I cant find anywhere else and it's casual atmosphere and diverse crowd is what makes it so fun. I especially love the Dog on Wednesdays with everything costing only a dollar! ;)

My sis was right. No pop music here. Just good ‘ol rock and roll. And the different kinds of beer rock! And I was lucky enough to get there on a Wednesday, with their one dollar special. It got a bit crowded though, but who can blame them? The babes frequenting the place were quite a sight too.
