Editorial Review of
Stingaree
Stingaree, the Gaslamp Quarter’s largest and most glamorous nightclub, is quite literally hot enough to sting. This superclub is the most prominent indication that San Diego’s downtown is joining the ranks of such outstanding nightlife destinations as Los Angeles, New York and Las Vegas. Named after the city’s turn-of-the-century red light district, the club spans three levels. The street-level space is always crammed with clubbers, and floating staircases lead to the VIP mezzanine. The rooftop bar, sizzling with fire pits and beautiful people, is an open-air celebration. Don’t expect to leave without spending a pretty penny; nightlife this dazzling calls for resilient bankbooks.
