This hole in the wall bar is best described as bright, not necessarily beautiful. Nonetheless, patrons adore Star Bar for its cheap drinks and unpretentious demeanor, and it seems that most have learned to love the garish christmas lights and eclectic decorations that remain hung in the bar year round. Star Bar features cheap beer, friendly (and cute) bartenders, and is open from six in the morning every morning of the week. Star Bar was voted San Diego's best dive bar in 2002, proving that even after decades in San Diego's constantly changing bar scene, it can hold its own.

I've got a thing for Asian women, so imagine my surprise when I went into this bar and saw that its bar was manned by friendly Oriental cuties! OK, so most of them had fake boobs, but who cares? Anyway, the drinks here are so cheap that for a just a few bucks, you’re guaranteed a hangover the following day. I just didn’t dig the Christmas lights.
Conclusion

 Great place to get drunk and enjoy some eye candy

Though the Christmas lights threw me off for a while, Star Bar delivered in really really really cheap liquor and "easy on the eyes" bartenders. Who am I kidding? These girls were hot! Maybe its because I have a thing for Asian girls, but Star Bar reminds me of my days in the service...

 If you're not too picky, Star Bar has what you're looking for in a good time.

I used to love this place untill the owner died and his daughter took over. Now I wouldn't go there if the drinks were free. The new bounsers are dicks and the place has lost what little charm it had. Watch out for the drugs and hookers too.
