Editorial Review of Silver Fox Lounge

The Silver Fox is known as the best local bar in Pacific Beach, and for good reason. This unassuming bar is not quite dive, not quite lounge. What you can be sure of at the Silver Fox, however, is a friendly, laid back environment with cheap (and plentiful) drinks, lots of games to keep you busy, and very little drama.

Locals swear by the Fox because it's not nearly as cheeky as the younger, louder bars farther west on Garnet. The Silver Fox has expansive hours to accomodate its always growing fan base, open from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. everyday of the week. Additionally, this little gem features daily happy hours from 6 to 10 a.m. and again from 4 to 7 p.m., $2 bottle beer of the month everyday, and $2 U-Call-It's from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. every Thursday.

I love Silver Fox. Hey, the bartenders are friendly and the atmosphere is great. If you aren't served immediately, the bartenders are probably busy just like any other place in PB. I love this place, it's not pretentious or trying to be something it's not. It's just a favorite neighborhood bar with great prices and a friendly vibe.

Added 07/16/07 Horrible Service!!

Contrary to what I've read on other websites, the service was horrible! The staff, particulary the bar manager, was extremely rude and could not have cared less if their customers were happy. If you're not a "local", then you won't get good treatment. There is nothing worse than servers on a power trip. I would steer clear of this haven of rudeness and visit one of the many other fine establishments that PB has to offer!
