Resplendent Red Circle Café has established itself among Gaslamp’s tried-and-true sensational destinations for dinner and drinks. The interior, decked out in rich shades of red and gold aglow with sparkling lights, is truly stunning. If the dance floor were a little larger, Red Circle would blow all its adversaries out of the water.

Instead, the owners have worked to enhance the details. Happy hours in clubs this posh are hard to come by, but Red Circle hosts them Thursday through Saturday, featuring incredible (for downtown) $5 u-call-it cocktails, half priced wine, 25% off food, and free edamame. An award-winning chef dishes up gourmet tapas like rib eye wrapped asparagus, chicken and green onion skewers, and soy ginger glazed salmon, until late in the evening.

This place is the best kept secret in the Gaslamp. Me and my girls hang there every weekend and we have the best time. Great music, amazing food and really friendly staff. I feel like I am in New York or Los Angeles. I LOVE THE NEW RED CIRCLE.

I had an amazing time here before the baseball game! Everywhere else downtown just had the usual drink specials. Red Circle had an old game playing with fun music on top of it. They had better happy hour specials than anywhere else downtown did. Plus, they had a girl doing a live body painting of a Padres jersey and then a fashion show with cute girls in Padres clothes. I'm a season ticket holder and I'll be at Red Circle all season long!

I just recently moved here from Kingston, Texas and was really excited to experience Gaslamp....a couple of friends took me to Red Circle and I was shocked how much different it is here in San Diego...I ended up drinking way too many of whatever you call those fancy little pink drinks and even met this really hunky guy but he ended up leaving with one of my friends at the end of the night!
