Resplendent Red Circle Café has established itself among Gaslamp’s tried-and-true sensational destinations for dinner and drinks. The interior, decked out in rich shades of red and gold aglow with sparkling lights, is truly stunning. If the dance floor were a little larger, Red Circle would blow all its adversaries out of the water.
Instead, the owners have worked to enhance the details. Happy hours in clubs this posh are hard to come by, but Red Circle hosts them Thursday through Saturday, featuring incredible (for downtown) $5 u-call-it cocktails, half priced wine, 25% off food, and free edamame. An award-winning chef dishes up gourmet tapas like rib eye wrapped asparagus, chicken and green onion skewers, and soy ginger glazed salmon, until late in the evening.
