Patrick's Gaslamp Pub
Not long after Prohibition ended in 1933, the Irish themed pub called Patrick’s II opened for business on the corner of 4th and F Street in downtown San Diego. Patrick’s II was later purchased in 1976 by the Matranga family during an era of decline for the downtown area. Four years after establishing their business, Patrick’s II was dealt a major setback when a fire left the bar in ruins. Deciding to re-build, Mr. Matranga moved next door to the historic Keating Building in the Gaslamp District where Patrick’s II can now be found. Over the years Patrick’s II has become known as the premier blues club in San Diego, bringing in talent from all over the country as well as the place to go to enjoy a thriving local music scene; Patrick’s II has new blues, soul and rock’n’roll bands playing every night, and there is no cover charge Sunday through Thursday. The pub, with its warm, comfortable, and fun atmosphere, is perfect for unwinding. Whether you are drinking a pint of Guinness, dancing the night away or just getting mellow to some good blues, Patrick’s II is the place to come for drinks and dancing seven nights a week.
