It’s inarguable that the Gaslamp Quarter is becoming oversaturated with fashionable super-clubs. On Broadway was the first, and though rivals like Stingaree and Belo attempt to siphon business away, no weekend passes without a line trailing from the formidable old bank building. What’s the secret?
History, of course, works in On Broadway’s favor. The club remains a household name. Its multiple levels, divided into private nooks as well as sweeping dance floors, offer a varied nightlife experience with one cover charge. On top of talented resident DJs, the club’s promoters regularly entice world-class DJs to spin for ebullient fans. While other clubs fade into memory, On Broadway stands strong as a one-stop destination for a matchless nightlife experience.
I had a blast at On Broadway over the weekend. It is a large club with multiple levels and dance floors playing the best hip-hop & techno. The multiple bars offered fast and friendly service. At the beginning of my night i had the opportunity of eating dinner there and trying some sushi and short ribs which was delicious. Every aspect of this place was on point and I suggest you check it out. The dresscode is enforced & there is the typical $20 cover unless you eat dinner or go early.
We wanted to try something different from our typical evening at a dive bar, so we headed Downtown for a little dancing and glamor at On Broadway. The $20.00 cover left a bad taste in my mouth, which was soon rinsed away by my $10 gin and tonic. The go-go dancers and selection of dance floors were awesome.
We rented a VIP area at On Broadway to the tune of $275 per bottle (2 bottle minimum for 8 people). The bottle was the same absolute I can buy at vons for $20! The dance floor was so crowded you couldn't move and the best area (upstairs dj techno) had lots of tables we could have sat down at that were free.
