Nunu’s is a relic of the sixties in a way that numerous pseudo-psychedelic bars can never hope to mirror. Garbed in hideous autumn colors that were so popular in decades past, with fake Tiffany stained glass lamps and bulky faux-leather booths, the bar is a priceless time warp owning a unexpected following that has never waned.
Patrons range from hipsters in their twenties gloating over their antediluvian find, to grizzled cigar-smoking types who haven’t set foot outside in years. The bar opens at six, an hour beloved by all-night partiers. There is also a fascinating menu, featuring cheeseburgers as well as liver ‘n onions .
When I first stepped into this place, I had mixed feelings about it.But then I saw the prices for their drinks e.g. $3.50 for a 7&7!Then I started to talk to their very friendly bartenders from John to Jeff and I feel in love with the place. I go at least twice a week and get some great food. Don't judge a book by its cover and get to know this place. The regulars are cool old men, who have tons of fun stories, and once a while they pay for your drink.
