An upscale dive bar in Downtown San Diego? It's real, folks. The Local is a surf-themed dive bar for those seeking a laid-back crowd in an sea of the hyper hip and trendy venues that populate the Gaslamp Quarter.

The Local is famous for their happy hour deals that run all night long. Thursdays are especially happy with the Cheap Thursday theme featuring $3 Jager shots, bottles, drafts, and wells. There's no cover; the fun starts at 4pm and doesn't stop until last call.

The bar menu is a selection of Californian favorites with cheeky names like Big Ass Nachos and the Big Wet Burrito. Obviously, the portions are huge, but luckily, the prices are not.

The Local definitely lives up to its name. A laid-back local spot to just hang out and enjoy a few drinks and decent food. Great place to mellow out in Downtown San Diego.
