Editorial Review of
Johnny V
Johnny V adds a touch of class to the Pacific Beach restaurant and bar scene, but keeps it real with killer drink and dining discounts. Owned and operated by the beach bar bigwigs at Pacific Beach Bar and Grill, Johnny V introduces a new vibe. Inside, the surprisingly spacious dining room, bar area, dance hall, and VIP lounge seats radiate with a downtown vibe, without the pretension.
The restaurant menu shines toward the steak-section. The Filet & Bayou Shrimp combo simmers with a blend of beer batter and Cajun spice. Stop by on a Thursday for special $3 martinis, half price bottles of wine, and a filet mignon dinner for $10.95.
The main element that separates Johnny V from its neighboring-dives is the dress code. Johnny V does enforce a dress code after 9pm that restricts hats, sweatshirts, shorts, and athletic wear. But don’t worry beach bums, sandals are still allowed. Downtown atmosphere aside, it just wouldn’t be PB sans sandals.
