Crush is a gem in the heart of Hillcrest, iridescently decorated, and graciously intimate. Attracting cultured metro-dwellers, the lounge touts itself as a wine bar, offering more than fifty varieties by the glass. Although such an extensive selection is sure to impress even the pickiest connoisseur, Crush’s cocktails are the real winners. The key lime martini, sprinkled with real graham cracker crust, is miles above the traditional lemon drop. The "Prickly Pear" is a sweetly effervescent libation, a blend of champagne and pear syrup. Late appetites are covered by a welcome variety of small plates, like goat cheese ravioli, steamed mussels, and gorgonzola-stuffed dates.

Crush is one of my favorite restaurants solely because of their extensive wine list. My boyfriend and I are quite partial to cabs and we love coming here on the weekends and ordering a bottle of wine and enjoying their appetizers (smoked salmon bruschetta! delicious!) but if you aren't into wine I will admit that they have some pretty tasty martinis as well, especially the sour patch kid...
