Beauty Bar

This fabulous little bar is located in an unexpected niche in the City Heights/ College Area, where its large pink sign with black cursive letters stands out like a sore thumb. Yet somehow, this Beauty Bar draws a constant crowd. Quite possibly, this is due to the Bar's unique interior, which is comprised of hip 50's style colors and enhanced by an array of  strategically placed and charmingly kitschy real old-fashioned beauty salon items, including a backbar from an old barber shop and vintage dryer chairs. Beauty Bar certainly lives up to its name: one of its famous special events is the "Martini and Manicure" night, which happens regularly - simply call to schedule an apointment. Private parties can also be booked, but feel free to head over any night if you want to dance to DJ's or, often, live music, because the Beauty Bar also has a stage. Make sure to stop in on a Friday or Saturday after 6 p.m., when Happy Hour runs until close.
