I can't stand going out in PB most nights, but whenever I go to Bar West I have a great time. Why people wait in lines to go into PB Bar & Grill when Bar West is just around the corner with half the line and a completely upgraded setting is beyond me. I say, leave Garnet for the tourists and go party at Bar West! It's always a super fun and hot crowd on Thursdays, awesome music too. If your friends are getting a table ... get the one with a stripper pole in the back.
Bar West has literally saved me so much money in cab fare ... I used to trek downtown to Hard Rock or somewhere to party on Thursdays until I realized how fun it is to party at Bar West on Thursdays. I love, love DJ Mikey Beats and it's rad that he spins most Thursdays in PB. Finallllllllly I can stay at "home" and have a super fun night!
Went there opening night and was not impressed by the crowds of fake snobs. The drinks were a little pricey for my range, and a much better time can be had just a few blocks down. If this place stays open much longer, I'll be surprised.
OK, it's true ... I wasn't a huge fan of Bar West when it first opened, but since the change in ownership, the overall vibe has become very cool. The crowd is better, the DJs are fun, the attitude has turned way down, and the very cool interior design is still as sleek and shiny as before. I'm loving the new-again Bar West!
Ummm, late night happy hour at Bar West is probably one of the best inventions. $2 sliders and $2 well drinks ... hello!? Amazing.
Haven't been here in awhile and its changed a lot, unfortunately not for the better. The drinks are over-priced for PB, its filled with a bunch of weird dudes and no cute girls in sight (except the bartender with the huge rack, and dark hair cocktail waitress). I have no idea why people would pay cover to get in here. Ever since they remodeled the venue and renamed it Margarita Rocks they haven't been able to get things right. The food sucks, the crowd sucks, and I rather go to a typically "PB" bar or just go downtown where I would actually get what I pay for.
Watch out for flying champgne bottles after a Charger victory!
