Even if you came up empty during the ticket lottery, there’s still plenty of Con-related fun — no pass required — outside the San Diego Convention Center July 23-27. Here are our picks — you’re welcome very much.

WOOtstock 6.0: Nerd comedy with Will Wheaton, Adam Savage and more. 7 p.m. Thursday. Balboa Theatre. $40.

Comic-Con pops concerts: San Diego Symphony presents three Con-themed concerts in Embarcadero Marina Park. “Video Games Live,” 8 p.m. Thursday. Danny Elfman’s music from Tim Burton films, 8 p.m. Friday. “Star Trek” (2009) Soundtrack, 8 p.m. Saturday. $25-$90. “Ghostbusters” party: Werewolf Bar celebrates the iconic film with a cosplay party. 7:30 p.m. Friday. 627 Fourth Ave.

Heroes Brew Craft Beer Festival: Costumed superheroes welcome at this celebration of more than 80 local brews. 4-7 p.m. Saturday. North Embarcadero Marina Park. $45.

Comic-Con Zombie Walk: Walkers in costume can join the eighth annual moonlight parade. 8 p.m. Saturday. First Avenue in the Gaslamp. Free.


Xbox Lounge: More than 85 gaming stations, tournaments, guest appearances, signings, a Hulu experience and more during Con hours. Thursday-Sunday. Harbor Tower, Manchester Grand Hyatt. 1 Market Place.

Gam3rcon: Video game central for serious gamers. Noon to midnight, Thursday-Sunday. Tenth Avenue Theatre, 910 10th Ave. $50 pass or $20 per day.

Assassin’s Creed Experience: This free interactive walk-through celebrates the top-selling first-person video game. Thursday-Sunday. Hilton Gaslamp Hotel.

“Walking Dead” Escape: Dodge bloodthirsty zombies in this interactive run-through at Petco Park. Thursday-Sunday. $75.

The Borderlands Laser Tag Arena: Nerdist hosts this videogame-themed competition, where 25-member teams will battle it out every 20 minutes in Petco Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday-Sunday.

“On the Set with Vikings”: History Channel hosts a walk-through “backlot” for its historic fantasy series, with displays, cast appearances and merchandise. Thursday-Sunday 450 Second St. Free.

Adult Swim Funhouse: The second annual festival features an adult obstacle course, interactive experiences, food trucks and more. Thursday-Sunday Petco Park. Free.

Geek & Sundry: Jolt’n Joe’s becomes geek central with music, games, swag food and drink specials. Thursday-Sunday. Free.
