Always dreamed of becoming San Diego’s next big DJ? Your shot at fame may be just around the turntable...
Fortune 421 and GuestHouse at Stingaree are teaming up to bring San Diego the 4th Annual DJ Contest. Throughout the months of October and November, eight contestants will vie for the ultimate crown, and you can watch the whole competition go down every Thursday night at GuestHouse.
Each week starting on October 10, two DJs will perform a live set in front of an audience and an esteemed panel of judges including Jason Royle, Jayce Hensley and Bryant Pham from 421 Events, Michael McShane of Stingaree and the headlining DJ from the night of the contest. The judges will choose a winner per round based on crowd response, track selection, overall DJ skills and amount of guests brought to the venue. Yep, to be a star-DJ, you need to roll deep. At 12:30 a.m., the winner will be announced to move onto the next round, until a championship battle takes place on December 5.
In it to win it? Submit a 30 minute House music mix, biography, gig resume, links to website and social sites, list of equipment needed to perform, shirt size and contact info by October 3 to firstname.lastname@example.org. Selections will be based on style of music, resume and following. You can download the application online at fortune421.com.
Besides ultimate bragging rights, the grand prize winner will receive a paid headlining gig for a future GuestHouse night along with drink tickets and a complimentary bottle for friends that night. Plus, they’ll be hooked up with a Fortune 421 clothing gift bag and the chance of becoming a part of the FAM Artists roster.
