Darth & Vader at Bar West – Sunday, July 14

Darth & Vader, a Brazilian electro-house project led by Hugo Castellan, is bringing the Comic-Con spirit to Bar West in Pacific Beach. Consider this your Comic-Con kickoff, as costumes and dubstep undertones invade the beach, setting the tone for the week ahead, on Sunday, July 14.

Hop-Con: W00tstout Festival at Stone Liberty Station – Wednesday, July 17

The new Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens isn’t within Comic-Con walking distance, but it’s well worth the cab ride. Especially on Wednesday, when Stone CEO Greg Koch teams up with actor Wil Wheaton and creator Drew Curtis to tap the new Farking Wheaton w00tstout. Be the first to taste the Comic-Con brew. Your ticket gets you eight 4 oz. beer samples, hosted apps and a bottle of w00tsout.

Super Hero Night at Side Bar – Wednesday, July 17

Attending Comic-Con preview night on Wednesday? Celebrate your sneak peek at Side Bar’s super hero themed Industry Night party. If you dress up as your favorite super hero, you’ll get hooked up with free cover and drink specials. And you won’t be alone; bartenders, VIP hosts and bottle service girls will be decked out in super hero attire, from Superman to Spiderman and Catwoman.

Open to public, 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. -

TV Guide Magazine Yacht - July 18-20

Is this real life? Nintendo and TV Guide Magazine are taking over a luxury yacht on San Diego Bay. On board, A-List guests will preview new games in the Nintendo Oasis. Perks: celebrity interview studio, photo booth, food, drinks.

Expected celebrities: Aaron Paul, Ginnifer Goodwin, Ian Somerhalder, Jason Segal, Kevin Bacon, Michael C. Hall, Neil Patrick Harris, Nina Dobrev, Malin Ackerman, more.

Wired Café at Omni Hotel – July 18-20

Why wait ‘til after-hours to party? Wired Café is the go-to VIP lounge and celebrity hangout during Comic-Con weekend. This year, perks include: HBO “Game of Thrones” bar with themed cocktails, hair braiding and Viking tattoos from The History Channel, superhero caricatures and “Harlem Shake” gaming. Plus, free food, drinks and charging stations. Invite-only. Celebrity guests TBD.

MTV 2 Party in the Park – Thursday, July 18

Following the “Teen Wolf” panel at Comic-Con by day, MTV will take over PETCO Park to pay tribute to the fans by night. MTV 2 Party in the Park is open to all Comic-Con badge holders, and will feature live performances (TBD), free food and drinks, plus the taping of “Guy Code Honors” with "Teen Wolf" stars.

Munky King Party at BASIC – Thursday, July 18

Munky King is a trendy designer toy store in Los Angeles known to showcase anime artwork from local independent artists, including prints, apparel and books. Once again, Munky King is kicking off Comic-Con weekend at BASIC in East Village. Get ready for live art battles (paint! markers!), emcee John Stokes of and DJs R-Rated and Colby.

Machinima Party at FLUXX – Thursday, July 18

Machinima, the gaming brand behind Halo, Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Mortal Kombat and even Sonic the Hedgehog, is taking over FLUXX Nightclub for a Comic-Con party on Thursday night. This is a private, invite-only event.

Bonus: FLUXX will be open to the public Friday and Saturday. Check out the summer theme Arcade. Expect super hero ensembles and Pac-Man installations.

Comedy Central Comedy-Con - Friday, July 19

Ever dream of throwing back a few beers, or 12, with the “Workaholics” crew? Comedy Central is hosting a daytime party at the Hard Rock Hotel's outdoor lounge Float, and the whole gang will be there: Blake, Adam, Ders and Kyle. Plus, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele will join the fun.

Ploom Arcade at The Keating Hotel - Friday, July 19

Radical Studios, the minds behind Oblivion and Hercules, is teaming up with Ploom, a vaporizer company, to host a live arcade and art exhibition. Invite-only guests will enjoy Uber transportation, beats by DJ Hem, a photo booth, classic arcade games and a Ploom smoke room.

Expected celebrity guests: Jennifer Lawrence, Nina Dobrev, Minka Kelly, Aaron Eckhart, more.

The Walking Dead Party - Friday, July 19

Before the AMC show, there were the comic books. For the 10th anniversary, The Walking Dead is hosting an invite-only party with a live performance by Weezer, a Hyundai Zombie Survival Machine and hosted bar.

Expected celebrity guests: Creator Robert Kirkman, cast members Chad Coleman and Scott Wilson, plus Seth Green, Breckin Meyer, Olivia Munn, Julie Benz, more.

Con of Darkness at Voyeur – Friday, July 19

Seven ‘genre entertainment’ brands are joining forces for an extra horrific party this year. The invite-only soiree is going down at goth-glam club Voyeur, with go-ghoul dancers and a special guest DJ. Make your way to the VIP suite decked out by Dark Sky Films. Zombie Invasion at The Haunted Hotel – July 19-20

San Diego’s premier Haunted Hotel opens up for a special engagement during Comic-Con every year. For two nights only, experience the Zombie Invasion on 4th and Market. The zombies of ‘Con will take over The Haunted Hotel’s twists and turns Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20. New this year, the Zombie Apocalypse Store from Las Vegas is setting up shop July 18-21. Tickets are $16.99.

Heroes Brew Craft Beer Festival at Embarcadero – Saturday, July 20

Finally, the craft beer scene invades Comic-Con. Heroes Brew is a superhero themed craft beer festival taking place at the Embarcadero Park North, behind the Convention Center. Karl Strauss, Aztec, Iron Fist, Ballast Point and more craft breweries will be on-site. Also expect a costume contest, bands and food trucks. Proceeds benefit the San Diego Coast Keeper and Surfrider Foundation.

Adult Swim Party at House of Blues - Saturday, July 20

Adult Swim and IHEARTCOMIX are hosting a dynamic Comic-Con party at House of Blues, featuring a live performance by The Eric Andre Show. Warning: you might get hit in the face by a Big Mac. More party perks: comedian Hannibal Buress and alt-electro band Yacht.

Patton Oswalt Live at Spreckles Theatre – Saturday, July 20

Patton Oswalt, the very funny comedian-actor-writer known for roles in “King of Queens,” “United States of Tara,” and Young Adult, among others, is headlining Spreckles Theatre during Comic-Con weekend. Patton Oswalt’s Comedy Central stand-up show has two times, 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., on Saturday, July 20.

Intervention ft. Laidback Luke at Hard Rock Hotel – Sunday, July 21

A Comic-Con themed pool party – how San Diego is that? The Hard Rock Hotel’s daytime bash Intervention channels ‘Super You & Me’ on Sunday, featuring Dutch DJ / producer Laidback Luke. More party perks: opening sets by Luminox and Deorro, plus a strict super hero dress code.

Rumor: Veronica Mars Party?

The Veronica Mars Kickstarter campaign earned well over its $2 million goal, which means there is extra cash to blow at Comic-Con 2013. Word on the street is, creator Rob Thomas is organizing autograph signings, a Q&A session and a private party in San Diego, where the television series was filmed. Will Kristen Bell attend? Will party-goers get a sneak peek of the new flick? Details TBD.
