San Diego, are you ready for a weird, wacky and out-of-this-world museum exhibit? The San Diego Air & Space Museum seems to think so. They’ll be opening “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not” exhibit on February 1, the first time the bizarre collection has made waves in San Diego since 1935.
Brave museum guests will wander past the eccentric and strange items from around the world. It was Ripley whose collection of odd artifacts from over 200 countries created the foundation for the “Believe It Or Not” brand. Just the name Ripley’s alone brings with it a deep nostalgia tied to the franchise of comic books and television shows. For over 90 years, “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not” has entertained fans with over 80 attractions in 11 countries.
This won’t be your ordinary museum exhibit, and it will undoubtedly stand out from the Air & Space Museum’s usual aviation displays. The striking and shocking treasures will be showcased from February 1 through the end of 2013.
The opening of the exhibit coincides with San Diego Museum Month, which has returned for its 24th year. During all of February, locals can pick up a free Museum Month Pass at local Macy’s stores to receive half-off admission at 42 San Diego museums. Guests with a pass may bring up to three people with them to any participating museum to receive half-off admission, too. Whether you’re a culture-seeker, an art enthusiast or a nature lover, Museum Month provides the perfect excuse to stretch your mind (and legs) into new territory.
