Rager: Intervention at Hard Rock Hotel

Intervention is the undisputed leader of local pool parties. The season kicked off April 21, the same day its Las Vegas counterpart revived the desert scene. Big DJs, small swimwear, daybed bottle service and Astroturf dance floor define Intervention, which rages every Sunday, and special Saturdays, through summer. Rotating: Fortune’s Pool Party Season at Ivy Rooftop

Fortune 421 selected the Andaz Hotel’s luxury rooftop pool as the site of its summer pool party series this year. The local promotion company will host four big day events, Memorial Day through Labor Day. Events for your radar: Goldroom & J Paul Getto on May 26, Viceroy & Them Jeans on July 4.

Renovation: Harrah’s day club and swim-up bar

A $150 million expansion is underway at Harrah’s Rincon Casino & Resort. On the summer menu are a renovated main pool, new swim-up bar and lazy river. Finally, the Vegas resort pool experience is coming (closer) to San Diego. Eight hot tubs and 19 cabanas also line the pool area. Starting mid-July, the Saturday day club will be called Dive with DJs and dancers to compete with the downtown San Diego scene. A new Mexican restaurant ‘ritas Cantina (with a built-in taco truck!) will also open in July for party-goers.

Rumor: WaveHouse partner switch up

This beachside destination partnered with LED Presents for daytime parties in years past. Rumor has it WaveHouse is now in talks with Insomniac Events (Electric Daisy Carnival) for a new EDM summer event series. But, the venue has not announced any SunDaze events with either production company for 2013. We'll keep you posted on this exciting rumor.

Renovation: Hilton Bayfront's new pool club

File this under San Diego hotel pool to sneak into this summer. But you didn’t hear that from us. The Hilton Bayfront is now showing off a new poolside bar and lounge. A Siren’s Call serves craft cocktails below ocean-inspired chandeliers. Also check out the renovated main pool overlooking the bay. No public pool parties on the calendar yet.
