Hear Adele's New James Bond Theme Song

It's been more than half a year since Adele swept this year's Grammy Awards and more than 13 months since her triumphant concert here at SDSU's Open Air Theatre.

Since her Grammys sweep, the soulful English singer has been laying low. In late June she announced that she is pregnant and she has curtailed her musical activities as she awaits the birth of her first child.

But Adele did agree to co-write and sing the theme song for the new James Bond movie, "Skyfall," which opens on Nov. 9.

The heavily orchestrated ballad employs musical elements that will be instantly familiar to fans of previous Bond movies. Adele sings with suitable drama. but doesn't overdo it. As always, she delivers her lines with grace and taste.

That's our take. Now it's your turn to weigh in:

Is "Skyfall" a winner that will have you rolling in the deep with Adele all over again? Does it rank alongside Shirley Bassey's "Goldfinger" theme song and Paul McCartney's "Live and Let Die?" Or is it closer to Sheena Easton's "For Your Eyes Only?"

Give Adele's song a listen, then tell us what you think in the Comments section below. Bonus points for obscure Ian Fleming references!
