James Bond is back, baby. Daniel Craig returns to the big screen in Skyfall, the latest adventure in 007 cinema set to hit theaters this Friday, November 9.
We’ve decided that the only proper way to watch a Bond flick is with a Vesper martini -- shaken, not stirred, of course. Good news for local Skyfall fans, starting Friday you can order from a James Bond cocktail menu while watching the movie at Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas in San Diego.
Cinepolis, the quickly expanding Mexican chain of luxury movie theaters with two locations in San Diego, teamed up with the mixology pros over at Snake Oil Cocktail Co. to create a James Bond-themed spirits menu available to 21+ theater patrons through the duration of Skyfall’s run.
Watch: Cinepolis and Snake Oil stopped by the UT-TV studio to preview the Bond-booze experience.
On the menu is the classic Vesper, known to be the official Bond martini, made with gin, vodka, lillet and a twist of lemon peel. Bond first ordered this now-famous martini in the “Casino Royal” novel, which he named after the female lead Vesper Lynd. It's the real deal.
More Snake Oil-designed cocktails include the Honey Ryder, made with bourbon, pressed Ruby Red grapefruit and jalapeno-honey reduction; and the Miss Moneypenny, a refreshing concoction of vodka, fresh cucumber-mint, pomegranate-limeade and cinnamon.
The James Bond cocktails are priced at $13 at the Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas in Del Mar and La Costa starting Friday, Nov. 9 in honor of the Skyfall premiere. For more information, visit cinepolisusa.com
