Look out behind you…the mustaches are coming! If you’ve noticed friends, coworkers and boyfriends looking a little disheveled lately, you can rest assured it’s not just a lack of effort. Movember has arrived.
Throughout the month of November, manly men from all corners join in solidarity with a grand celebration of their homegrown ‘staches. While the movement certainly earns due man-points from fellow onlookers, its greater purpose is to raise awareness for men’s health.
Local restaurant CUCINA Urbana is getting in on the mustache madness with a sugary sweet Movember campaign. Stop in and indulge on a purchase of one of four signature chocolate mustaches. These edible and clever pops are created by Executive Pastry Chef Jack Fisher who will feature a new style each week. For $5 a pop, you can sport a “Sheriff” ‘stache and eat it, too!
Go Social: CUCINA Urbana will help capture the chocolate mustache pops on camera, and guests are encouraged to post their pic on the CUCINA Urbana’s Facebook Page. There, fellow followers can “like” and vote for their favorites. You can also tweet your photo to @CUCINAurbana using hashtag #Movember.
A portion of the proceeds raised from the Movember campaign will benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation as well as the LIVESTRONG Foundation. Support prostate cancer and testicular cancer initiatives with a local (and sugary) spin. While you’re at CUCINA Urbana, don’t forget to feast on Chef Joe Magnanelli’s fresh and sustainable creations of antipasti, insalate, pizza, pasta and so much more.
CUCINA Urbana is located at 505 Laurel St. in Banker’s Hill
