Taste of Little Italy – Wednesday, June 20

The spirit of Little Italy comes alive during this ‘Taste of’ event. The downtown community’s leading Italian restaurants, and some international alternatives, open up their doors to serve sample dishes. Featured Little Italy restaurants include Bencotto, Craft & Commerce, PrepKitchen, Indigo Grill, Davanti Enoteca, Buon Appetito, Karl Strauss Brewing Co., and of course, Filippi’s Pizza Grotto. Del Mar Summer Solstice– Thursday, June 21

Del Mar Village celebrates the Summer Solstice at Powerhouse, showcasing the community’s top restaurants paired with California craft breweries and wineries. Sample tastes from 20+ restaurants, including En Fuego Cantina & Grill, Jake’s Del Mar, Flavor Del Mar, Sbicca, Poseidon, Kitchen 1540 and Il Fornaio. While you eat and drink in the ocean breeze, check out a variety of local items featured in a silent auction, with proceeds to benefit the Del Mar Village Association. Tickets are priced at $60. DSD Presents: Weezy Thursdayat Bar West – Thursday, June 21

New Weezy Thursdays are bringing open-format DJs to the forefront of the party scene at Bar West in Pacific Beach. Say goodbye to EDM-driven BPM Thursdays, and prepare for hip hop beats and top 40 hits all summer long. The DiscoverSD crew is hosting the Weezy Thursday launch party this week, featuring DJ Beatnick and a hosted Grey Goose bar from 9-10pm. If you want the goods, you have to RSVP here

“Shahs of Sunset” Mike at Hard Rock Hotel – Friday, June 22

Mike Shouhed is a good looking bad boy on Bravo’s new hit series “Shahs of Sunset.” The show follows a group of Persian men and women through their professional work and party adventures in Los Angeles. Once a high roller in Las Vegas real estate before the big crash, Shouhed is now part of the ‘Persian Real Estate Mafia’ in L.A. On the side, he’s trying to break his Playboy ways and find a good girl he can bring home to mom. Shouhed is San Diego-bound to host Friday night at the Hard Rock Hotel. The party will also feature DJ Red and Ayla Simone.

Amaz!ng Presents: Cirque with JES Live at Spin Nightclub – Friday, June 22

The incredible ‘Rocktronica’ singer / songwriter JES is performing live at Spin Nightclub on Friday night, thanks to Partying for a Purpose and Amaz!ng. The indoor/outdoor venue in Old Town will also feature Jason Whitmore on Saxophone, Victor Dinaire, and more Cirque-inspired entertainment surprises from Charmed Life. More perks include treats by Sprinkle Me Desserts and Pati’s Rum Cakes on the rooftop. Tickets start at $25, and proceeds benefit the It’s All About the Kids Foundation. Get details here

Kevin Nealon Live at The American Comedy Co. – June 22 & 23

Kevin Nealon, the hilarious actor and comedian we met on “Saturday Night Live,” and fell in love with on Showtime’s hit series “Weeds,” is heading to San Diego this weekend. International Beer Festivalat SD County Fair – June 22-24

Craft beer lovers will take over the San Diego County Fair this weekend, as the San Diego International Beer Festival hosts its 6th annual event across three days. This big beer fest will feature more than 300 beers from nearly 140 breweries all around the world. A general admission wristband gets you a souvenir tasting cup and unlimited one ounce samplings. The VIP Lounge gets you early admission, food pairings and a chance to hang out with the brewers. Get details here

Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-off Festival – Saturday, June 23

The Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-off Festival is one of our favorite summer events in San Diego. Now in its 33rd year, the festival is expected to attract 70,000 visitors for a chill afternoon of oceanfront entertainment. Check out five stages of live music, a beer garden for 21+ guests, food and shopping vendors, surfing and skateboarding, a community mural art project, ‘Wonderland’ children’s area, and of course -- the big daddy Chili Cook-off. Taste of Adams Avenue – Sunday, June 24

Cruise down Adams Avenue, from Normal Heights through Kensington, to taste sample dishes from over 30 restaurants and cafes from 11am to 3pm. Featured Adams Avenue eateries include Bleu Boheme, Sabuku Sushi, Farmhouse Café, El Zarape, Blind Lady Ale House, Ponce’s Mexican Restaurant, Twigg’s Café and even Viva Pops.
