3rd Annual Brewbies Festival at Pizza Port

Beer and boobs make for a dream scene in any dude’s mind. But they’re also essential tools in educating our community about self-health and breast cancer research.

The 3rd Annual Brewbies Festivalon Saturday, February 11th is fusing local San Diego brews with the Keep A Breast Foundation message at the Carlsbad Pizza Port. From 12pm to 5pm, guests are invited to enjoy a tasting, raffle prizes, and custom Pizza Port and Keep A Breast pints.

In one stop, sample local handcrafted beers, plus the special edition pink beer brewed at Pizza Port. Each attendee will receive one raffle ticket and four 6 oz. tasters, as well as a take-home custom Brewbies pint glass and an “I Love Boobies!” bracelet. The best part? 100% of all the proceeds will directly benefit Keep a Breast’s prevention and education programs.

The Brewbies tradition is now in its third year, and while it’s exponentially growing, it had humble beginnings. Three years ago, local Melanie Pierce made a commitment to learn more about breast cancer and to do her small part to help the big cause. Inspired by the Keep A Breast Foundation and encouraged by the access she had in her local community, she decided to be a part of raising awareness and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Through the support of Pizza Port, Melanie was able to start Brewbies, a beer festival that benefited the cause and brought together the crew, local brews, and donations from our San Diego community.

For brew aficionados, Brewbies selections will impress. Local and regional breweries to be featured include Alpine, Ballast Point, Knee Deep, Kern River, Sierra Nevada, Allagash, Coronado, Big Dogs, Avery, Pizza Port, Lost Abbey, Hollister, Russian River, and Beachwood BBQ. Raffle items include donations from Electra Bike, Flow Snowboards, Oneill, Otter Box and more. Tickets are priced at $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

Pizza Port is located at 571 Carlsbad Village Dr. For more information and tickets, head to pizzaport.com.
