Prepare to have your senses ambushed with the nation’s first multisensory art and fashion show, turned on and tuned in to the future of artistic innovation. Exhibit Ambush is coming Saturday, Oct. 22 to San Diego’s downtown Horton Plaza to transform the space into an extravaganza of contemporary art, fashion, music, and design from local and international talent alike.
Embracing a multimedial and multisensory philosophy of art, the musicians, djs, and bands will choose music that interacts with the changing space. A brigade of models and performers will simultaneously showcase the various threads of avant-garde fashion and art. From recycled to glow-in-the-dark fabric, to unique cuts and patterns inspired by graffiti or urban life, these experimental fashion and accessory lines are destined to inspire a whole new level of outfit or costume design for this fall season.
The sensually stimulating art will feature unique color schemes and patterns, as well as imaginative concepts and themes that may provoke audience members to broaden their boundaries. For those interested in taking a piece home with them, accessories such as hula hoops, hats, watches, glasses, or shoes with artsy designs will be available for purchase.
With a night full of live dance performances by both Dev, a local Michael Jackson impersonator and the Rock So Fresh break dancing crew as well as music by DJs Roger Moorehouse Music and DJ Listo, this is a fashion show that is the perfect combination of fun and unforgettable. Ending at 11pm, the afterparty allows attendees to interact with all artists, designers, and the engagingly eccentric host, Yara Sofia.
VIP tickets, which include preferred seating, access to all performers and displays, an open bar and appetizers, and an exclusive gift bag, cost $100 online, and general admission is $29. This 21 and older event opens with a VIP preparty at 6pm. The opening for all attendees, which begins with live body painting by Linda Lopez, is at 7pm.
