It’s a question old as time: which goes better with fine sushi, revitalizing sake or a refreshing beer? The 9th Annual Beer and Sake Festival gives guests the chance to decide for themselves as top companies serve up over 100 beer and sake selections, while San Diego restaurants provide traditional Japanese eats. This San Diego foodie event benefits a great cause, and takes place at the San Diego Marriott Del Mar on Thursday, June 23.
Attendees will try unique imported Japanese beers, as well as sample top local microbrews. Stay thirsty, as 22 beer and sake companies cheers you with over 100 varieties. To keep you on point, 13 local restaurants will offer pairing appetizers, so that you can experience the full flavors of both the beverage and the fare. Kanpai!
San Diego restaurants set to participate include The Marine Room, Harney Sushi, Burlap, Arterra, Harrah’s, Shimbashi Izakaya, Alchemy, Top of the Market, Sushi on a Roll, Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, and Sea Rocket Bistro. The eateries will present signature dishes, along with sushi creations. And your opinion counts. Guests will vote for their favorite restaurant dish, with the winner earning the title of 2011 Beer and Sake Festival Best of Show. A raffle is set to take place, with sake baskets, beer baskets, and restaurant gift certificates as prizes, along with a silent auction. Music will be provided by The San Diego Taiko Drum Group.
