Anyone who spent Christmas in San Diego knows that Santa was extra nice this year, donning designer sunglasses and a pair of board shorts in the 75-degree sunshine. However strange that seemed to the rest of the world didn’t matter to us because we are a people addicted to catching rays in every season.
Now that the lazy days of summer seem oh so far away, we’ve begun living in a world of pool-party fantasies, browsing through photo galleries of sunnier times past. To anyone who begged Santa to bring the pool party back to San Diego stat, we thank you. Whether it was Santa or the Gaslamp Gods, someone took note and is delivering the infamous Hard Rock Hotel Intervention in the form of a much-needed Wintervention.
On Sunday, Jan. 15th, Hard Rock Hotel San Diego is heating up the season with a Wintervention featuring Australian electronic stars NERVO. Though the good ol’ days of summer were all about pool-party revelry atop of Float, this special edition takes over the Legends Ballroom, summer-play toys included. Inside of the 9,000 square-foot space, guests can show some skin along day beds, lounges, summer décor, and a circular bar centerpiece.
First step to sizzling is getting to know the sassy songwriter/musician/DJ sisters Mim and Liv Nervo. This power team have proven themselves in the industry and gained fame after touring with the world-famous Paul Oakenfold and Chuckie, and collaborating with Avicii, Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Kaskade, Laidback Luke, Steve Aoki, Dadalife and John Dahlback. They’ve also penned hits for such artists as Ke$ha, Kylie Minogue, The Pussycat Dolls and Jennifer Hudson. The feisty sister-tag team is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with, and electro-house is just the beginning of what makes them shine.
Bold and in-your-face, the ladies of NERVO will heat up Wintervention’s walls with no holds barred. Just close your eyes and imagine you’re one step closer to the summer series of weekends spent poolside. Until then, enjoy a little mid-January carousing in a hot hot mock-up. Bare some skin while you’re at it, as bikinis and babes are encouraged per usual.
