Diva Dash Women's Obstacle Course Run

As 2011 comes to an end, we catch ourselves thinking about what we want to do different in the upcoming year and how to make our goals into our reality. If getting into great shape and spending more time with girlfriends is high on your New Year’s resolutions list, then we know the perfect way to start the year: the SHAPE Diva Dash taking place along Mission Bay on January 20-21, 2012.

This women’s obstacle adventure run invites you to grab your besties, throw on your favorite tennis shoes and show us what you’re working with. The race consists of three miles of varied terrain, with several obstacles thrown in along the way. Obstacles will vary from ropes and mazes to tests of balance and strength.

The Diva Dash weekend kicks off on Friday, January 20th with a big expo from 12 to 7pm. During the expo you can register for the race and pick up your information packets, while snacking and bonding with your girls. Saturday, January 21st is race day, and you’ll want to arrive early as there will be 20 starting waves at 15 minute intervals, beginning at 8:30am. After you cross the finish line, swing by the Diva Dash after-party, taking place from 9am to 3pm.  You and your ladies will get to celebrate the victory with music, rehydration, snacks galore and tons of sponsor prizes (think Dove Chocolate, Luna and Origins). The winner of the race, decided by finish time, will win a luxury vacation. Now that is some motivation.

In addition to empowering you and your friends to strive toward your resolutions, this event also benefits four non-profit organizations designed to aid women and families in need, including The Jenna Druck Center, Women’s Museum of California, Voices for Children and the YWCA.

Diva Dash registration starts at $50 per person. After the kickoff in San Diego, Diva Dash travels to Austin, Boulder and Boston. For more information and training tips, visit divadash.com
