As a result, they are both incredibly savvy when it comes to the merchandise and can be counted on to provide accurate pricing and appraisals for all records bought and sold. The store maintains a clear focus on folk and rock artists, offering both full size and 45rpm vinyl. Nickelodeon Records also has an apparent affinity for unusual artists and album art; take their “smoking section” for instance, which strictly features images of artists with cigarettes which decorates an entire area of the store.

Added 06/21/11 Once a year

Once a year my wife and I do to SD for our summer vacation. One of the things I never miss is to stop by at N.R. although it takes me about 1 1/2 hours one way from our hotel downtown to get there by bus(es). The ladies really know a lot about music and after one year take me by surprise every time by still knowing what I am looking for. Though I am more or less bargain hunting (mind the expensive flight from Germany) they are always friendla and very, very patient. Wish we had such stores over here!
