Editorial Review of The San Diego Museum of Art

The San Diego Museum of Art is San Diego’s oldest, largest and most popular museum, providing a varied and cultural experience for hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. Located in the center of scenic Balboa Park, the Museum’s permanent collection includes Spanish and Italian old masters, South Asian paintings, and 19th- and 20th-century American art. The Museum regularly features major exhibitions from around the world, and admission to the Museum is free.  In addition, The Museum does its best to promote education and awareness of the arts, supporting cultural and educational programs for children and adults alike. In addition, the Museum’s research library offers the public a look at an impressive collection of art history publications.  After enjoying a day of art, be sure to stop by the Sculpture Court Cafe to treat yourself with a beautifully elegant and equally scrumptious meal that will round out your day perfectly. Nearly a hundred full-time and part-time employees help to ensure the smooth running of the Museum, and they, along with a Board of Trustees, strive to provide the public with a satisfying and enriching cultural experience. With the help of numerous volunteers, foundations, donors, corporations, and visitors, The San Diego Museum of Art is able to function fully and provide the educational and artistic value to the community that many have come to appreciate.  Be sure to stop by the museum website in order to be updated about special exhibits and events that are occurring, you definitely don't want to miss out on any great opportunities!
