Listing Details: Built between 1928-1929 for the purpose of housing and showcasing San Diego Historical Society’s Collection, the Serra Museum landmarks the first mission founded by the Spanish Fransciscan missionary, Father Junipero Serra in 1769. Designed by architect, William Templeton Johnson, the museum resembles the early Spanish style missions that once dominated the landscape of Southern California. The museum is available for school tours by appointment only, Tuesday thru Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The museum is a popular venue for weddings and other special events.
