Listing Details: Founded in 1962, the Firehouse Museum occupies the former home of San Diego Fire Station No. 6, which now resides at First Avenue and B Street, the City Operations Building in the heart of Little Italy. The museum’s brick-and-mortar building features all manner of fire-fighting gear imaginable and pays tribute to fire marshals, chiefs, deputy chiefs, alarm dispatchers and battalions who have answered the call of duty. Some memorabilia dates as far back as 100 years. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children/seniors. There is a gift shop with firefighting apparel for sale. Credit cards, cash and checks are all accepted. The museum is also available for private rental. For more information or to rent, call (619)232-3473.
