Listing Details: The New Americans Museum opened its doors to the public in June 2008, at the historic Naval Training Center Promenade (Liberty Station). The New Americans Museum's goal is to be a public forum for other organizations to partner with on programming that includes: Oral and visual history projects; Visual and performing arts; Cultural events; Lectures and speaker series; Conferences; and Exhibitions. Exhibitions at the New Americans Museum examine both historic and contemporary immigration to the United States. The Oral and Visual Histories Recording Studio offers families the opportunity to record and preserve their histories for posterity.
