San Diego's holiday season is quickly approaching. Here are a few fun ideas and activities to get you and your's in the holiday spirit.
Wear your favorite holiday scarves and mittens and take a romantic night stroll around Balboa Park. Check out the botanical gardens, have a romantic dessert and hot cocoa at the Prado restaurant, and have a silly photo shoot by Santa's sleigh in Prado Circle. With the beautiful holiday decorations up, the simple and sweet San Diego date ideas are endless.
Burn a Christmas music CD for your car, hit up Starbucks for some hot caramel apple ciders, then take a driving tour to look at Christmas lights in San Diego neighborhoods. I recommend Garrison Street in Point Loma. Get directions and set out on a romantic holiday adventure.
A truly unique San Diego Christmas tradition is the Parade of Lights on San Diego Bay. All the boats are decorated in lights and sent on a cruise around the bay, and this year even has a pirate theme. The tours take place on December 9th and 16th from 5:30- 9pm. Bring pieces of cake and a bottle of wine, a blanket and extra jackets, and sit along the bay wathcing the lights drift by.
Now, who doesn't love ice skating? There are two great places to skate during the holiday season. Horton Plaza offers an outdoor ice rink where you can rent your skates. And even better, the Hotel del Coronado features a rink right on the beach. You can't get more San Diego than that. For extra romance points, the Del also offers Santa's Surrey Sleigh Rides around Coronado for $10 a person.
Re-discover your inner child by taking a trip to Toys R Us. Free the kid in you and go crazy. Play a video game, ride a tricycle, and race remote control cars. Add an extra feeling of holiday spirit and pick out some great toys to donate. Let your date pick out a gift and pick up the tab.
End the evening by taking the donations to Children's Hospital or the Channel 93.3 toy drive drop off by Ikea in Mission Valley. A trip to Toys R Us in San Diego shows your willingness to have fun and be a kid again. These characteristics are always attractive, and any date will be really impressed.
Insider tip: If your date mentioned something he or she likes at the toy store, go back after the date, buy it, and stick it in with her present. This is just a cute little way to show you care.
The holiday season is all about being with the people you love and making timeless memories. These are just a few ideas and activities for the holiday season; let creativity be your guide for the holiday dating in San Diego.
