No, you're not on spring holiday on the picturesque Italian island of Capri, you are indulging in the spirit of charity at the Junior League of San Diego's annual spring fundraiser, Island DiVine.
The Junior League of San Diego (JLSD) will channel the forever-spring vibe of Capri, the elegant island in Italy, for the 8th annual Island DiVine fundraiser on Saturday, April 19 from 3-7:30pm at Ellen Browning Scripps Park at La Jolla Cove. Though an Italian vacation it's not, guests will be transported to a world of exotic luxury - if only for the Euro-style afternoon.
On the sunlit grassy park overlooking the Cove, Island DiVine will feature two tents filled with delicious tastes and sips from participating local and national restaurants, wineries, breweries, and spirit companies. Guests will mingle to soft sounds of the islands while trying the best of Italian inspired cuisine and spirits and bidding on the coveted silent auction items.
The oceanfront VIP tent invites guests to a plush lounge atmosphere inside, elevated by stunning views of the Cove on the outdoor patio. Tommy Bahama Rum and Oriel Wines and Maple Creek Winery will serve spirit samplings to the VIP crowd as their very own rotating personal chef changes the featured menu item every hour on the hour. Participating VIP tent restaurants include Merk from the Keating Hotel, Vigilucci's, and Roy's.
VIP guests will also have admission into the general tent area that will house spirit companies and chef booths from dozens of leading San Diego restaurants including The Fleetwood, Jade Theater, JRDN, The French Gourmet, Sammy's, Laurel, Whisknladle, and more. While the Italian theme will intertwine throughout the several courses served, a global fusion of culinary concepts will echo the spirit of universal benevolence in charity.

Self-explained, JLSD is a not-for-profit organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. JLSD is part of the larger international organization that brings together 296 Junior Leagues in four countries, with a collective membership of over 193,000 women.
Island DiVine is a prominent annual benefit, however only a small element of the local Junior League's year-round efforts.
