There’s no better place to for ocean-view dining than San Diego. Our beautiful beach city is saturated with exclusive, state-of-the-art eateries for any type of cuisine, and ocean-view restaurants in are commonplace. Because of the relaxing atmosphere Southern California provides as well as its year-round warm weather, locals and visitors alike drift in and out of ocean-view restaurants on a daily basis.

Poseidon

Del Mar’s Poseidon restaurant carries all the sophistication and class you’d ever look for in an elegant San Diego eatery. Located just north of Powerhouse Park along Coast Boulevard, you will simply feel the warmth as you enter the dining room and cocktail area. The ambience is soothing and relaxed, and the menu is classic American seafood with a luscious wine list to match.

Visitors will absolutely drool over the killer location, but the fun doesn’t stop there. Poseidon’s 2004 renovation has definitely been a treat for the beachside eatery. Try the Prawn Martini, served with vodka cocktail sauce and avocado. For even lighter fare, try the Cobb Salad or the Thai Chicken Salad. Whatever your menu choice, the elegance and beauty are guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Marine Room

Casual elegance is the ambiance of the Marine Room, a romantic ocean-view restaurant. Located in La Jolla, this sophisticated eatery has been around since 1941. Enjoy live entertainment and luscious cocktails right on the gorgeous waterfront.

If location were the key essential to the prosperity of a restaurant, Marine Room would blast all others out of the water. The framed photos on the wall even depict the two times when waves crashed right through the windows and flooded the dining room!

Chef Bernard Guillas works to prepare a menu equipped to saturate your taste buds with the finest of flavors. With brunch buffets served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Sunday, omelettes, carving stations, ahi tuna sushi and even Grand Marnier french toast adorn restaurant patrons plates. Although the experience comes with a price, the beauty is worth it.

George’s at the Cove

La Jolla’s George’s at the Cove is a culinary dream. Boasting a beautiful waterfront location, 20 years of culinary magnificence has sculpted a menu full of imagination and adoration.

Entrees such as the Grilled Prime Flat Iron Steak, with roasted new potatoes, asparagus and candied shallots with chimichuri sauce will make your mouth water just thinking about them. Topped off with three dining levels, gorgeous artwork and ambient lighting, a dinner at George’s at the Cove will prove to be an amazing experience.

If it’s possible to plan your meal at sunset, you will be in for a real treat. The waterfront location and warm sea breeze will be the perfect topper to a decadent feast.
