THREADucation: Scope Hot Indie Designers for Him

Just in time for your ultimate fall fashion shopping spree, THREAD Show is back in town, Sunday, September 26th from 11am – 6pm at Horton Event Space in downtown San Diego!

THREAD is every local shopper’s dream destination for one-of-a-kind fashion apparel and accessories hand-crafted by local independent designers. Beyond the stylish goodies, THREAD offers an irresistible atmosphere with runway fashion shows, a maze of mini boutiques, pop-up art galleries, multiple bars with flowing spirits, DJs and live performances, a huge crowd of hipsters and serious shoppers, and the all-new NOSH station with your favorite local eateries.

Though many out-of-the-loop locals may think THREAD is just for the ladies, it is actually quite the contrary. Me thinks San Diego guys will love shopping for one-of-a-kind graphic tees, collared shirts, belts and style accessories all while drinking cocktails to hard-hitting local DJ beats as gorgeous men and women strut down the runway. THREAD boasts a huge line-up of indie designers that cater especially to the gents. From ARKA Clothing to Manta Direct Belts, Rufskin Denim and SAA-Z Collared Shirts, THREAD Show is every guy’s perfect chance to pick up some must-have fall and winter items while partying in true Sunday Funday style.

Listen up fellas, scope all of THREAD’s top indie designer duds hand crafted just for you!

ARKA Clothing: Graphic Tees & Streetwear
The definition of ARKA is to be the “King of all Kings” – which may seem like this brand bit off a bit more than they can chew, but you’re sure to change your mind when you scope the goods and learn the tricks of their trade. Although ARKA began as a modest t-shirt company, the brains behind the operation now take male streetwear fashion very seriously, which is why they work with non-toxic eco-friendly ink and only feature shirts with preshrunk 100% premium cotton that is heavily dyed. Furthermore, the stylish bigwigs are incredible meticulous about the product and business; each and every product is tested more than once in order to insure the highest quality, and each design is individually analyzed and reanalyzed and every stitch is observed in order to make sure that results are optimal. Trust ARKA for unique male streetwear style that will make you the King of All Kings. ARKA is based in Los Angeles and offers a Joken Style Showroom on 9th Street, but will be on display at the San Diego THREAD Show. View the online shop and learn more at arkaclothing.com. Manta Direct by Richard Fredrick is a revered local source for unique, high quality fashion accessories – specially, eye-catching must-have belts. This San Diego based brand uses only the best in available materials, such as Swarovski Austrian Crystal and genuine semi-precious stones. The products are 100% cruelty free and are all made by hand right here in San Diego. Richard Fredrick’s collections range from Open Road and Western, to Beach, Retro and Punk/Goth – covering all bases for fashionable belts and accessories. Pahna: Graphic Tees
Pahna began as a personal project in San Diego, and is now a coveted brand for graphic tees and sweatshirts that are inspired by the local reggae and electronic movements throughout Southern California. Pahna’s designs are influenced by music, art, history, politics and life itself. The Pahna purpose is to provide designs that people can relate to and wear them as a form of expression. Every shirt has a story, such as the Organic King Tubby tee: Jamaican electronics and sound engineer, creator of an entirely new music genre known as dub music. Tubby's studio work elevated the role of the mixing engineer, earning him the appellative “Dub Master”. The King Tubby Organic design is printed on 100% organic cotton, using water based ink; giving it a lighter and softer feel. Check out Pahna in person at the San Diego THREAD Show. View the online shop and learn more at fabrik68.com.

Vos Populux: Graphic Tees
Vos Populux is a collaboration of artists from all over Southern California coming together with the purpose of delivering a unique style of clothes worldwide. The shirts are printed on a variety of materials such as organic cotton, distressed cotton and rayon products. The mission is to take a percentage of income and help those in need around the world. Vos Populux takes pride in laying down their comfort for others. Local guys will love the graphic tees and unique, artisan designs. Check out Vos Populux at the San Diego THREAD Show. SAA-Z: Designer Collared Shirts
The guys behind the SAA-Z brand have traveled to Italy, Spain, Germany, and Brazil, and have seen men dress up for work, or just dress up for a casual day, and yet it seems as though they are going to a GQ Magazine photo shoot. Although style differs from country to country, we all want to look and feel good in whatever we wear. They have created SAA·Z to enhance the casual yet diverse lifestyles of fashion-conscious male customers, with a sense of style, comfort and originality. SAA-Z is located in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Shop rare and unique SAA-Z designer shirts at the San Diego THREAD Show. View the online shop and learn more at saazdesigns.com.

Sezio: Live Screen Printing
San Diego based Sezio isn’t the average indie designer station you’ll find in line at THREAD. Sezio is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that provides resources, exposure and community support to emerging artists and musicians through a variety of new media, events, retail and community programs. Check out Sezio at the San Diego THREAD Show for live screen printing displays of tees, scarves, hoodies and more. Learn more at sezio.org.

kngly . cvrngs: Sweaters, Tees & Accessories
kngly. Cvrngs – or, kingly coverings – is a t.shirt brand based in San Diego, owned by Troy Hollinger. To this day, most product is concepted, designed and hand printed in Troy’s home – or as he likes to say, “international from my garage.” kngly . cvrngs boasts clothing and accessories for male, female and child shoppers, yet locals dub this brand obsession-worthy for male graphic short and long sleeve tees as well as sweaters and sweatshirts.
