Simon Fashion Now Strikes a Pose: Sept. 11 & 12

San Diego’s biggest fashion show event – Simon Fashion Now – is set to make a stylish reappearance at Fashion Valley September 11 - 12, 2009.

Local shopping addicts know and love Fashion Valley for Melrose-worthy designer boutiques elegantly displayed right at home in San Diego. From Michael Kors to Just Cavalli, Betsy Johnson, Gucci, Hermes, Kate Spade, Burberry, Tiffany’s & Co. and Louis Vuitton, our every high-style desire is available at Fashion Valley. 

Simon Fashion Now is an annual event that takes the fashion off the racks and onto the runway. Celebrating fall fashion trends, Simon Fashion Now will feature a vibrant series of fashion shows and interactive entertainment designed and presented by Simon Property Group. The concept is a dynamic mix of accessible, luxurious and affordable style that affords San Diego shoppers the ability to purchase straight from the runway. Each event will offer advice and insight into the latest cosmetic trends, must-have accessories, and, of course, fashionable flair available at Fashion Valley Shopping Plaza.

Friday, September 11
Charity Luncheon and Fashion Show 11am – 1:30pm
Details: The charity luncheon event will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, where funds will be raised to fight Breast Cancer right here in San Diego County. Charity luncheon admission is $100, call 858.573.2760 or visit Simon Guest Services for tickets.

Trends and Friends Night, presented by Riviera Magazine 5-8pm - an evening of fun with your friends featuring fashion, style tips, sampling, music, cocktails and bites.
Runway shows on the hour at 6pm and 7pm.

Saturday, September 12

Style Wars - Project Runway star Nick Verreos will headline FIDM student “Style Wars” competition from 10:30am - 12:45pm
Runway shows on the hour, every hour from 1-4pm
Simon “Style Shops” will have beauty and product demonstrations led by experts from Nordstrom, Carlton Hair, Sephora, MAC Cosmetics, Kiehls, and Macy’s, from 12-5pm

Runway fashions will be shown by designers; Henri Bendel, Betsey Johnson, Custo Barcelona, Guess, Karen Millen, M Missoni, Kate Spade and Tiffany & Co. Retailer participation includes Bloomingdale's, Banana Republic, Bebe, Tommy Bahama, Gap, Intimacy, Lucky Brand, Max Studio, Cache, Jewel, Tous, Sun Diego, Forever 21, Oliver Peoples, Talbots, True Religion and Charlotte Russe. Macy’s will have its own style scene during the runway fashion shows.

The Simon Fashion Now concept was conceived through grand opening events at properties like The Galleria in Houston, TX, The Forum Shops at Caesars in Las Vegas, NV and The Domain in Austin, TX. Through the success of these events, which became fashion focused in 2003, Simon decided to take the events national and Simon Fashion Now was introduced.
