THREAD San Diego Designers: Quiet Hero

With the December THREAD Show right around the corner, San Diego fashion enthusiasts are eagerly researching their style, making their must-have lists and doing their shopping stretches. And, let's face it: trying on True Religions for size, and lunging across the room to reduce the truth, aren't exactly the worst pastimes for San Diego shopping addicts.

Although designer denim is a staple on THREAD San Diego shopping lists this season, the rest of the wardrobe remains a mystery. Who are the top designers at THREAD? Who will showcase the best accessories? What item is a holiday-must-have? Calm down restless shoppers, trust your pending questions to DiscoverSD.com and keep your stress level size-centric.

In anticipation of THREAD San Diego on December 2, 2007, DiscoverSD.com spotlights top designer: Quiet Hero. Discover the poetic drive and abstract imagination that define the risqué class and urban sass of Quiet Hero.

Q: Where are you from?

A: Quiet Hero roars from all corners of the globe, and from inside every heart. Starvation and satiation - in every town and out of every nation. Walking swimming flying crawling, Quiet Hero crosses the finish line of fashion every day, and keeps going.

Q: How will you be involved with this year's San Diego THREAD show?

A: We will be dropping acid for the first time. Wait, do you think that's OK?

Q: Tell us about your designs. What are your favorite pieces? What materials do you use? What makes your designs unique?

A: Ah, our designs. The Hero's favorite is the flip-floppity wet, wild, and wicked fashionable mermaid. Lying back on a soft shirt of bamboo and organic cotton, she narrows her eyes and invites you close with a glance to learn the secrets of the bare breasted sea.

Q: Which designers/artists are your inspirations?

A: We are inspired by dripping red meat, virgin celery sticks, and tofu waffles. Huddling through a whipping Sahara sandstorm or standing out to sea under full sail, balancing on the creaky wobbly edge of excitement and disaster. We live in inspiration.

Q: What recent fashion trends do you love? What do you despise the most?

A: We are in awe of the global consciousness shift towards helping humanity.

Q: If you only had one day left on earth, what would you be wearing?

A: Gosh, we don't know if we'd even dress at all – Imagine greeting extinction with nakedness; what could be more glorious?

Q: What emerging trends should San Diegans keep an eye out for?

A: Follow your own perception and wear what makes you feel good. While running after the clothing industry, keep a weather eye out for your own sanity.

Q: Do you think this year's THREAD show will be better than ever?

A: It will be our first, our best, our worst, our favorite, and one more opportunity to connect with folks who are ready to step into a new vehicle of fashion.

Q: What are your favorite San Diego boutiques?

A: We like JEP, Sugar, Let's Go, and Fabrik. Of course, we're biased by capitalism to support those boutiques that have taken a step towards their own likes and been brave enough to listen to the subconscious jangle that hits every time you see something fresh, new, beautiful, and slightly off-kilter.

Q: When you're in San Diego, where can we find you?

A: Danny's Bar in Coronado, when we're not being thrown out for life.

Q: Anything else you'd like fashion fans to know?

A: Be brave, run from fanatics.
