Get ready for an edgy take on the once glitter-filled evening celebrating the coming of the new year. An individualistic spin on New Year's Eve in San Diego where black tie is not required, DJHere Productions' vision for The Prado Party is completely different from mainstream affairs in that an artistic flair will be the theme of the evening.

Indie socialites, trend-setters, and rockers normally found in North Park dive bars and off the beaten track will find solace in The Prado Party in its focus on going against the norm, not requiring a dress code and having graffiti and tattoo artists performing interactive live art throughout the night. Continuing the DJHere Productions tradition, this party will take over one of San Diego's oldest landmarks - The Prado - complete with a spacious outdoor patio, multiple levels, and a generous main ballroom with a full theatrical stage.

Along with DJHere, Fieldtrip Entertainment is throwing in their keys to the ultimate art party. Brett Fischer, co-owner of Fieldtrip along with David Weidetz, has plenty of thoughts on why this event is going to be a hit. "We want to start breaking the rules for events. Other companies follow the basic guidelines when it comes to throwing events. For them it's about being safe, making money and not taking risks. For us, our fans come first."

San Diego is definitely one city that can handle an excuse to get away from the norm on New Year's Eve. The live art show will feature four hours of interactive artistry. The variety of talent will merge as one as the artists collaborate on one universal 10 x 20 canvas. Master artists, underground painters, graffiti writers, tattoo artists, stencil artists and wheat pastors will all be on scene to make for one unique evening, featuring Quevz (New York), Tocayo (Miami), DVice (San Diego), Restitution Press, Richard Arthur, and Dave DVICE Weidetz (San Diego).

Pat Eckstein, prominent DJHere partner, adds, “The live art show will go on all night and will be a very special element of the event. There will also be a midnight ball drop and all kinds of other goodies that are going to remain secret until the night of.”

"We want the crowd to leave with a memorable experience, something more than just a good time. We want to be the ones to surprise our guests. When people walk in, they are never expecting the kind of event we offer. Parties - especially New Year's Eve parties - don't always have to be suit and tie and so repetitive," comments change-maker Fischer. Looks like at least one 2008 San Diego New Year's Eve party has the potential to make San Diego entertainment history.

Fieldtrip Entertainment's spotlight DJ duo, Shark Attack, will stick to their strict creed to play only electro and indie rock. "The Shark Attack duo is our diamond in the ruff. They are growing very quickly with the help of their fan base here in SD as well as LA. I guarantee you have not heard their beats in any clubs downtown," says Fischer of the musical talent. Other DJs on the scene will be Mike Beats, Tony A, and Jayson Summers. If you're tired of the same re-peat rhythms every weekend, the Fieldtrip lineup is definitely worth a listen.

Pat Eckstein explains, “The Prado Party is the first type of NYE event like this that we’ve thrown - but it’s not out of the norm for us. We wanted to try something that everyone can connect with - something that is unique, sexy and will allow people to really let loose.”

$40 pre-sale tickets and VIP bottle service tables can be purchases at the following websites: www.wanttickets.com/fieldtrip, www.djhere.com, and fieldtripentertainment.com. Doors are open from 9pm-2am.

If breaking all the rules just isn't your style, DJHere's New Year's Eve Ball with a Casino Royale/Breakfast at Tiffany's theme is for you. This W Hotel party is the glam New Year's Eve locale for DJHere. The W will sport various themed rooms including a fully decked out Casino Royale (James Bond style), and the Miami-inspired Veranda Lounge, where attendees can sip champagne poolside and make a midnight splash in the pool. Visit djhere.com for further event and ticket information.

DJHere Productions launched in 1998 in a small club called The Candybar inside Blind Melons (now 710 Beach Club) in Pacific Beach. The company has since progressed into a nightlife powerhouse in San Diego, taking ownership of Aubergine and promoting Excelsior in La Jolla on Fridays. This year's Halloween bash at The Prado, Femme Fatale Halloween Ball, was one of the group's largest annual parties. The DJHere team consists of DJs, promoters, venue owners, and nightlife photographers - led by Chris English, Pat English and Pat Eckstein.

Fieldtrip Entertainment launched in early 2007, and has since hosted an array of electro-rock and graffiti art filled parties at Beauty Bar, Wave House, House of Blues, and 4th and B. Fieldtrip Entertainment, Shark Attack, and local band Buddy Akai make a fierce indie force to be reckoned with.
