When the 2007 wildfires swept through San Diego, county-wide residents began asking themselves: What can we do to help? Fire victims, firefighters, and volunteers united as one to aid San Diego in the dire time of need. Beneath an auburn hued sky, San Diego was ablaze with support.

Weeks have passed, the ashes have cleared, Qualcomm city no longer stands - but the tragedy is still upon us. As San Diego recovers, top restaurants and clubs are catering their entertainment edge to a charitable cause. From fundraising fashion shows to hosted bar benefits, San Diego businesses are doing their part to rebuild San Diego.

Firehouse American Eatery and Lounge in Pacific Beach is one such San Diego venue that is taking a stand to support the San Diego firefighters and their families.

Seven San Diego firefighters lost their homes to the 2007 wildfires. On Tuesday, November 13, 2007, Firehouse hosts "Fill the Boot," a signature benefit dedicated to raising funds for San Diego firefighters and their families.

Firehouse Lounge is adjacent to the Pacific Beach Fire Station, and maintains a strong relationship with the local firefighters. Seven days a week from open 'til close, San Diego firefighters receive 25% off food and $3 beer specials.

On Tuesday, November 13 from 6-9pm, Firehouse is taking their support one step further with 100% of proceeds benefiting the seven San Diego firefighters and their families who lost their homes to the recent flames. With alcohol sponsors, local business and media sponsors, and a benevolent staff of volunteers - Firehouse hopes to donate a generous sum to the San Diego Firefighter Relief Fund.

"Most of the principle providers at Firehouse are San Diego natives, and have so much respect for the amazing job the firefighters did with the wildfires, and continue to do every day." Says Firehouse partner Adam Stemmler. "If my house was in trouble, they would be there for me. This benefit is the least we can do to give back to those who have given so much to us."

Thanks to Firehouse Brewery, Trumer Pilsner, Karl Strauss, Southern Comfort, Jack Daniel's, and VeeV- the world's first açaí spirit, guests will enjoy a varied hosted bar paired with complimentary all-American treats from the Firehouse menu. The house DJ will mix up an upbeat tempo throughout the evening as a DiscoverSD.com fire photos slideshow brings reality to the rooftop lounge and Firehouse raffles off over $1,000 in prizes donated by top San Diego businesses. Donations are highly recommended for drinks, food, and raffle tickets.

"Numerous charities have contributed to the fire funds, but we wanted to do something different - a grass roots benefit to really raise money for the firefighters and their familes."

With authentic fire trucks parked outside, authentic firefighter gear inside, and 100% of proceeds benefiting the Firefighter Relief Fund, this San Diego charity event is not to be missed. Join Firehouse American Eatery and Lounge in Pacific Beach to give back to the brave and noble firefights who risked their lives and sacrificed their homes to protect the community they know and love.
