The Westin Gaslamp Quarter is all about location, location, location. Ideally located smack-dab in the central of Downtown San Diego, by taking a few steps in any direction guests will be treated to all that Downtown San Diego has to offer, including Horton Plaza, the Gaslamp Quarter, Petco Park, and the Convention Center. Since The Westin Horton Plaza is located right on the edge of the historic Gaslamp Quarter, which can entice travelers with an extensive amount of extravagant shopping and fine dining options. Guest can even take a short trip to the San Diego Zoo, which is located less then ten miles away. Despite all of the local attractions within an arm’s reach, you may not want to leave your room once you discover the newly transformed guestrooms featuring the new Westin design and heavenly bed, which features 250-thread count sheets, a pillow-top mattress, and five goose-down pillows and can be found in every one of the 450 guest rooms. Flat screen televisions also accompany every room, going the extra mile for their visitors. Clearly The Westin pampers their guests, as well as their guest’s dogs. Dogs up to 40 pounds are welcome without an extra charge or deposit, so feel free to bring your furry friends along. The Westin even offers their guest’s best friends their very own Heavenly dog bed.

I can't say enough about this place. It looks great all the way from the lobby up to your room; no doubt a five star experience. Check out was at 4pm, which is awesome because I got to catch a few extra z's.

This is a fantastic hotel, just stunning. The pool area is just incredible. what a great view! I nearly felt like a king. I couldn't say any complaints.

We had our prom at this hotel and it was just stunning! A few friends and I decided to stay for the night and the room was totally dreamy. Just loved it here.

Added 01/16/08 The Westin Horton Plaza has the best bed in San Diego and the world

The beds offered here are beyond comfortable, they are addicting. They even gave our pet his own Heavenly bed, which he was reluctant to leave for a walk. Even better is that when you do finally get up, the mall is just next door, along with fabulous dining and nightclub spots all over. I don't have enough great things to say about this hotel.
