I really felt at home while staying at the Sofia Hotel. Finding this hotel was like finding a great downtown apartment – it was close enough to walk to all the downtown restaurants and clubs, but removed enough to maintain a relaxing vibe. My suite was decorated in soft colors and the bedding was very comfortable. I didn’t really know what a boutique hotel was (have to admit) – but I get it now, after staying at Sofia. Everything feels unique and one of a kind – just like you are staying at your (incredibly well-off) friend’s San Diego home. My husband and I enjoyed dinner at Currant, and the next morning I took advantage of the yoga class while he caught up on business in the suite.
Conclusion
I definitely recommend the Sofia Hotel for a relaxing stay in San Diego.

Perfect for gateways, just take your husband, girlfriend, spouse or whatever to the Sofia Hotel and relax in a nice and lovely but not over the top atmosphere in San Diego. Spa and rooms are absolutely top for a great rate

The restaurant was amazing; they serve absinthe! The hotel itself has an amazing mix of historic chic and trendy boutique. I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for something unique yet refined.
Conclusion
Easily one of my favs and as a frequent downtown San Diego visitor I'll be back.

Whenever my wife and I take a vacation away from the kids, her first idea is the Sofia Hotel. The yoga studio and spa are the most relaxing destinations of any vacations I've taken in a long long time.
This hotel is chic and trendy, but not over the top, it still has classic elements that promise it will be golden in years to come.
Conclusion
Sofia hotel is an excellent place to relax in San Diego.

In my perspective, the sofia hotel has the best rates in san diego. the rooms are a little small but it's okay. There's complimentary waters in the refridgerator. it's nice because they have a yoga room with free yoga videos, and the gym has treadmills with mini flat screens on them.
Conclusion
If you want modern and classy you should stay here. Plus, the amenities are the best!
I agree!I stayed there on the 2nd of January. The rates was excellent and the rooms are extremely comfortable; simple, comfortable, and elegant. I didn't appreciate the $25 valet, but it was SO close to the gaslamp quarter and the mall that I didn't have to drive. I would stay there again!Posted on: 1/21/2008 By John V

Fabulous hotel! The rooms were so cozy....I highly recommend the spa! I got a Fusion massage and a milk & honey hydration wrap and was completely relaxed!
