Solamar Hotel is downtown San Diego’s reigning prince of proximity. Located in walking distance of Petco Park, the convention center, and all of the Gaslamp Quarter’s award-winning restaurants, nightclubs, boutiques, and malls, Solamar is visitors’ first selection for convenience of the highest caliber.
Accommodations at the Hotel Solamar are just as desirable. The décor is ultra-modern and attractive. Many rooms possess patios opening right onto the pool deck, where travelers can take a dip while enjoying a specialty martini from the popular adjacent Jbar. The on-site restaurant, Jsix, is as good as any nearby, serving up inventive California cuisine to satisfy rumbling stomachs.
I think the word "awesome" best describes this hotel. Large artfully designed rooms, plush beds, great and helpful staff, strategic location, great food, and....oh well, you get the picture. Of course all these could cost you more, especially the valet parking which is particularly expensive and I sort of had issues with, but I got over it. The beauty of this hotel is just overwhelming.
