For the first time, the San Diego Zoo will be hosting the San Diego Zoological Society’s annual salute to Christmas and the holidays. The new holiday attraction is suitably called Jungle Bells and will include special shows such as Dr. Zoolittle’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” – with a unique Zoo twist. Other shows include the Winter’s Winged Wonders bird show and the Fire & Ice show where 300-pound blocks of ice will be carved into animal sculptures. A bountiful of activities will be in store as well, with animal meet-and-greets, a holiday skating rink and visits with Santa through December 23rd. Head to the San Diego Zoo for this special holiday adventure from December 11-23 and 26-30, 2009 and January 1 and 2, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. General admission passes are $37 for adults and $27 for children.
