Event Details:
Event Description:
On the run after murdering a man, accountant William Blake encounters a strange Indian named "Nobody" who prepares him for his journey into the spiritual world. This black and white postmodern Western, Dead Man (1995), starring Johnny Depp, Crispin Glover, and Gary Farmer and directed by Jim Jarmusch, is shown in conjunction with the exhibition Walk from the Sun: Photographs of Southern California by scott b. davis. The moody and enigmatic black-and-white photographs in this exhibition deal with issues of both presence and absence, also themes in this film.
Before the film, the artist will give a talk about the exhibition and how the film, which davis chose for this program, relates to his work.
